John Wiertzema writes and teaches on biblical eschatology. He is the author of Settling the Rapture Debate and How Scripture Speaks About the End, the first book in a four-volume series that works through what Scripture says about the end, starting with how Scripture itself speaks: its symbols, its patterns, and the way its prophecies are built.

Much of the church’s division over the end times, John argues, comes less from the texts themselves than from the assumptions readers bring to them. His work tries to set those assumptions aside long enough to hear what the passages say, and then to show how the pieces fit together. He writes for readers who want depth without speculation.

He publishes essays at johnwiertzema.com, teaches on YouTube, and writes a weekly newsletter. He lives in the Southwest United States with his wife and children, where he continues to write, research, and teach in service of the church.
